“TPN – Powering Connectivity, Driving Exports” marks a new milestone in elevating Thailand’s energy logistics towards ASEAN.
Khon Kaen, August 14, 2025 – Thai Pipeline Network Co., Ltd. (TPN) showcased the potential of its Khon Kaen Oil Terminal, positioning it as a regional energy hub in ASEAN. Oil products are transported through pipelines to TPN’s terminal in Ban Phai District, Khon Kaen, before being distributed to neighboring countries. This system aims to reduce logistics costs, minimize environmental impacts, enhance safety, and raise national standards in energy transportation.
The opening ceremony of “TPN – Powering Connectivity, Driving Exports” was presided over by Mr. Paophum Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance, together with the Excise Department’s Director-General, executives from major oil companies, and pipeline transport operators, demonstrating strong collaboration to enhance Thailand’s energy logistics system. This aligns with the Ministry of Energy’s policy to promote investment in the energy sector as a new economic driver, while positioning Thailand as a regional energy hub that connects seamlessly to the global market.
Mr. Luechai Soodsakorn, Managing Director of TPN, stated that following the National Energy Policy Council’s (NEPC) approval in 2015 for TPN to expand its oil pipeline in the Northeastern region, the company laid the foundation stone for the Ban Phai depot in February 2019. Today, the construction of both the pipeline and depot facilities has been successfully completed according to plan.
“This achievement is marked by today’s event, ‘TPN – Powering Connectivity, Driving Exports’, which demonstrates our readiness to provide oil transportation and export distribution services to customers across ASEAN. With support from the Excise Department, TPN’s Khon Kaen Oil Terminal is officially designated as a bonded warehouse exempt from excise tax, enabling the promotion of petroleum exports under applicable laws,” Mr. Luechai added.
